About Instruments
What does “wood composite” mean?
The term Wood Composite refers to the body material used on Nobel Instruments. It is a mix of grenadilla wood powder, epoxies and binders. The mixture is injection molded into the body parts. This technology is highly effective for lowering production costs and the results are body parts that are identical in dimension and tonal color. Ultimately, wood composite instruments are as durable as plastic but sound like wood.
What does “hybrid” mean when we’re talking about double reed instruments?
This term refers to 2 Nobel instruments (NO1H and NEHH) where the top joints are made out of Wood Composite material and the lower two joints are made out of Grenadilla wood. The hybrid design eliminates the cracking problems associated with top joints, and gives our Nobel Instruments exceptionally rich sound qualities.
